Liebster Award
Good afternoon! Today I would like to thank sweet Rebekah of Calico Sisters for giving me the Liebster Award. This award, named for the German word for "darling", seems to circulate through the blogosphere with alacrity. It must show how many encouraging gals there are out there! :)
Answering Rebekah's Questions
1) Have you ever
watched Downton Abbey? If so, how would you rate it from 1 to 10? Get ready for
a complex answer. :P I've seen a deal of the third and fourth season, but only
bits of the earlier seasons. Though I think the actors are talented and the costumes
are great, I think I would only give it a 5 out of 10, because I'm not a fan of
some of the scenarios in the series.
2) How long have you
been blogging? I've been blogging just over ten months. :)
3) What is the long
term goal for your blog? Good question! I believe my long-term for Sunday Best
is to encourage young ladies to dress with both good style and modesty, in
honor to the Lord.
4) Have you ever set
off a firework? Nope.
5) What kind of
weather is there where you live? [i.e. tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes...]
Our climate is temperate, and fairly moist. We used to get a deal of rain, but
have had a drought for the past couple of years. Earthquakes are somewhat
frequent compared to most of the country, however.
6) Would you rather
ride [a horse] or walk? It depends. It depends. Not being an avid rider,
walking would be easiest for me to get somewhere, but if I had time for an
amble, riding a horse would be fun! :D
7) Have you ever been
on a mission trip? If so, where to and why? No, I haven't. I view being a
counselor at Christian camp as a sort of mission trip though. :) 8) What version of the Bible do you prefer? [i.e. KJV, NIV, the Message] I read in KJV, and like it's poetic language, but by no means think it is the only good translation.
9) If you could have
a certain amount of land for free, how much would you want and what kind
terrain would it be? [i.e. 100 acres of pastureland, forrest, beach, etc.]
Hmm...I think I would want a few (maybe ten? I'm bad with measurements) acres of
Pacific northwest land with beach and forest on it.
10) What is your last
name and what does it mean? Walters. It is apparently from the Germanic name
"Waldhar". This was derived from the words "wasl" or
"wald" (depending on the source), meaning "rule", and
"hari" or "heri", meaning
"army" or "warrior". The name came to England during
the Norman Conquest. Pretty cool, eh?;)
11) Do you have a
paying job? I currently get paid for two cleaning jobs and a babysitting job.
:)
