Hi readers! It's been a while again, hasn't it? Life has been extremely busy for me lately and blogging has been one of the things placed on the back burner. That doesn't mean I don't think about the blog often. Happily, earlier this week Mom and I got a chance to get out for a quick photo shoot!

Outfit || Black & White & Red

Good day, dear readers! How has your January been thus far? Mine has been cold and warm and windy and rainy and sunny - of course, this is fairly typical for my corner of the world. ;) Life is much the same way, never dull and always changing. There has been time for fun and photography and chocolate ice cream though! Now and then, I even have the energy to create a new outfit, which is just what I'm sharing with you today!

Birthday Night

Image
Another birthday has come and gone. I am another year older and hopefully more mature, skilled, and experienced than I was this time last year! Now I am one more year into that most mysterious of decades, "the twenties". Birthdays are strange things; we have them only every twelve months, but that one day goes on to define a part of us for the next twelve.

Tabby Cat Crafts Review

Hello all! Today I'm here to review a handcrafted item from an Etsy shop. How often is it that I do that!? Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Dressy Dinner // You Might Be a Modest Fashionista If...

Greetings all! Perhaps Sunday Best can get back on schedule this week, eh? :) I'm here this Tuesday with an outfit and the modest fashionista list that I said might happen last week...ha! ;)

Pink Blazer & Tall Trees

How do you do readers? I am busy (surprised? ;) and glad to be enjoying the summer sunshine this week. Oddly enough, the cheerfully colored outfit I'm posting today did not have sun as a backdrop. Oh well! At least the photos were taken somewhere besides my house (which resulted from a really quick side-trip on the way home from a birthday party...). Enjoy the different backdrop! :)

Sunday Best in "New to Me" / Back on Schedule?

Image
Those of you who follow me may have noticed a sad lack in my posting last week. Alas, I wrote only one post instead of two! How could I have fallen down on the job? Well, okay, it's not the worst thing in the world. ;) All the same, it is a situation that I hope to remedy.    To start this week off on the right foot, I am sharing with you an outfit that I wore last Sunday. It was put together around the skirt, which is a recent second-hand find. The color, length and cut of this skirt is superb! On first seeing it, I felt doubtful of its worth. After trying it on, I knew it was for me.       The top I chose to wear is a favorite button up of mine. Its floral print includes blossoms in a similar shade of blue as the skirt. The color of the infinity scarf I wore was also a near match. For warmth, I added oatmeal tights that corresponded well with my blouse. To keep off the rain, I threw on my faithful beige blazer and shod...

Rainy Day Sunday Best

Image
Greetings ladies! How do you do this February evening? Thus far, I've had another week of being busy both in my home and "abroad". I'm getting ready to teach the first in a series of drawing classes tomorrow morning. Though I've already taught children arts and craft classes, this will be my first class focused solely on drawing. Drawing is definitely my cup of tea, and I hope my students will come to enjoy it too! :)    The outfit that I am sharing with you today is what I wore to church yesterday - it seems fitting that I should post my Sunday best now and then. ;) You will notice that only one of the pictures in this post was taken outside. That was because  I was getting rather wet! You see, here on the coast we had a wonderfully rainy weekend. The precipitation was certainly needed, and it was a bit more exciting than the bland, overcast skies had been. There's something about rain which lends ...

My Essentials (and why you might like them too!)

Image
(above items are from Modcloth, Ruche and Anthropologie, respectively) We all have go-to items in our closets and dressers that have more outings than our other clothes. Their cute-factor, practicality and versatility have us wearing them again and again. In short, they make the outfit. Here, I have compiled a list of my essential shoes and clothes. They are great for starting you on your way to being more stylish, or just sprucing up your present wardrobe. Though you may not like them as much as I do, or find them to fit your lifestyle, they are what has worked for me and I just want to share them. J Striped knit tee This is so simple and yet so fun. The secret is in the stripes! If you want a quick way to make a casual outfit more chic, wear some stripes.   A Neutral Cardigan After buying this oatmeal cardigan, I wore it almost nonstop until a recent heat wave. I usually wear it with the sleeves pushed up, and it goes with nearly everything. Cardigans add ...

Indroduction and Classic 60's

As this is my first post, I suppose that an apt way to begin would be to explain why I started this blog. :)  First of all, I greatly enjoy clothes. Putting together outfits is one of the ways I express my creativity. Lately, I've been wanting to share my hobby with others. Most girls want to wear cute clothes, but some don't know "wear" to start. A blog seemed like a splendid way to show others what I've found to work in the world of fashion. Also, I have pored over books about clothes and style. They are just so fun, that I thought I would try my hand at a similar, if smaller, endeavor. At the same time, another reason for starting this blog was to be different from other sources. Following are the two big differences: 1) As a servant of Jesus Christ, I will present modest fashions. Before I go further, I will say that I realize modesty is different for different people. My standard is probably too high for some and too low for others, but never outl...
