Sunday Best in Princess Style
I'm probably one of the few twenty-or-so-years-old American girls who aren't into Disney Princesses. However, this doesn't mean I'm immune to finding the "princessy" elements in an outfit. I'm particularly thinking today's Sunday best. What kind of princess would I be in this? A modern day European highness? A lady trying to reinterpret Edwardian fashion? What do you think?
The focal point of this outfit is the long floral skirt, which was painstakingly hand-hemmed by my mother (thanks Mom for being a good clothing alter-er). Its regal beauty was allowed to shine against the elegant black of my t-shirt and tank. A fuchsia cardigan added a pop of color, as well as warmth to my arms. Meanwhile, a rustic time-keeping necklace adorned my top and balanced the outfit. Black flats completed the look.
Proof that my hair stayed put through church...this was not a redo! Please tell me someone else has problems with their hair falling out of its 'do during church... |
Well ladies, please accept an apology for Sunday Best's brief, photo-centered blog posts lately. I suppose that I haven't been in a writing mood recently. Inspiration may come to me again soon. Meanwhile, I recall suggesting a "You Might Be a Modest Fashionista" list, which has not yet been posted. If I take my brain in hand and all goes well, it could become a reality this week! Remind me if it doesn't...;)
My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
You are fairer than the sons of men;
Grace is poured upon Your lips;
Therefore God has blessed You forever.
Grace is poured upon Your lips;
Therefore God has blessed You forever.
Psalm 45:1-2
Really like this outfit, Paige! It looked great on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Amanda! <3
DeleteVery pretty outfit, Paige! I love it's beautiful and classy look. I never was into Disney princesses either, but I did enjoy dressing up and pretending I was royalty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bethany! :D Yes, why dress up like Cinderella when you can be Elizabeth I .... or someone much simpler. ;)
DeleteBeautiful outfit! I love the black and white with a pop of color. And yes, I too have problems with my hair falling down during (or soon after) church. In my case that is probably because the do's that look the best ARE my hair almost falling down. I usually just employ hairspray!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D Haha! Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one - and I call myself a fashion blogger. Perhaps hairspray is the key in some cases, as that is what I used on Sunday. :)
DeleteI love your skirt!!! And fuchsia is the perfect Autumnal shade for a pop of color with black and white! Your necklace is so pretty too! I totally get you about the Disney princess thing. I just don't understand why some people feel like it's cool to nearly obsess over Disney princesses when they are well past age 10. Ah well, to each their own, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jill! :D I'm glad you enjoyed this outfit.
DeleteMy family stopped watching Disney princess movies when I was pretty young so I didn't have much chance to get very into them in the first place. :)
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lois!
DeleteAbsolutely love this outfit on you! Very pretty and feminine. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much sweet Cryslyn! :)
DeleteWell, you look like you would be a very genuinely sweet, caring princess. One that many would look up to. You would represent a good role model. I totally love your fuchia cardigan absolutely brightens your outfit. You look lovely,
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Stephanie M.
Aw, thank you for your sweet words Stephanie! I hope that is the kind of princess I would be/should be as the bride of the King of Kings. :)
DeleteBeautiful and elegant as always, Paige! =)
