Outfit || Foggy Day Fashion

   Hi everyone! Well, I guess I'm a once-a-week blogger now. Life stops to wait for no one, and the hard times, busyness, and taking time for rest and fellowship has caught up with my blogging life. Rather than pushing myself to come up with two posts a week, I will make it my goal to post once a week. It may happen more or less often sometimes, depending on how the week is going. Part of blogging is being able to enjoy it, and I think paring down will help me to have more fun, and hopefully maintain blog quality!

   Though it's still summer, today has been foggy and dark, making me feel like it's already autumn! Anticipating the chill of the church building, I put together an outfit that would keep me warm. A striped jersey skirt coordinated well with a dark blue graphic tee and matching footless tights. Meanwhile, a deep red cardigan added a rich tone to the color scheme and allowed me to tuck in the t-shirt. Black flats kept the look classy, yet casual.

   Last night I looked up ideas to cut down on frizz, as the top layer of my hair is one big fly-away. A couple of ideas I saw were to only comb the hair while it's being washed, and to dry it with a t-shirt instead of a terry-cloth towel. Today I tried both hints and later added a tiny bit of gel to a couple of places and blow-dried my roots for just a bit. These things combined with the humidity made my hair full of ringlets. It's interesting to see how different drying methods (and weather!) can change one's hair texture. Have you ever dried your hair with a t-shirt? What do you do to cut down on frizz?

   Well folks, that's all for now! :) I would appreciate your prayers for my family and I, as we are dealing with some things right now. May you have a lovely week and enjoy styling some fabulous outfits!

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself;

  1. Oh this outfit is really fun, dear Paige! I love your skirt...
    I too struggle with frizzy hair... I have found that if I wash it, comb it when wet then leave it to dry naturally, it cuts down on frizz...but, I cannot brush it as it just puffs up! Otherwise I dry it with a hair drier and again, don't brush it. I know this is somewhat shocking, but I usually avoid brushing my hair for about two days...I just run my fingers through it here and there to keep it looking alright. This works for me, but not for my sister...one can see that she hasn't brushed her hair...it just depends on the thickness, length etc, etc! Haha!

    I will be praying for you, my friend... And don't you worry, seasons come and go...perhaps sometime you will find you have time to blog twice a week again! But in the meantime...take all the time you need to rest and refresh youself with the Word and fellowship with other Believers!

    Hugs to you, dear Paige! And happy new week!

    1. Thanks sweet friend!
      Oh, it's not shocking at all! It sounds like you have a good hair routine going. :) Those of us with curls and waves aren't really supposed to brush our hair...I'm trying to break myself of the habit. ;)
      Thank you so much! <3

  2. Very nice outfit, Paige! We've had some cold mornings, but the day-time temperature is still pretty summery on most days. This weekend though, we were at a chess tournament, and the air conditioner worked extremely well in the building. So...I put my sweaters to good use!

    I don't think I have ever tried drying my hair with a t-shirt. A while back (I don't know...maybe a year or more?) I was unhappy with the overall frizzy consistency of my hair. I ended up switching to L'Oreal sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners. They seem to do an ok job, and I've stuck with them. I still get a pretty wild case of the frizz after a long day...but I've come to embrace it. It looks interesting with my red hair.

    1. Thank you Bethany! :) Oh dear...good thing you brought your sweaters! This week, it's back to sunshine and warmth here on the coast!
      Oh, that's neat! We don't use sulfate shampoos in our house, as my Mom is allergic to them. We recently switched from natural conditioner to Pantene, which gives a nice texture. :)

  3. What a delightful smile! Your outfit looks very nice. I like your color scheme, calming and rich red makes it comfortable. I have thin straight hair,sorry I don't have any tips for frizzy hair. Your hair looks full and pretty from my view. Sorry your family is going through a difficult time. I will pray that God guides you through this and restores your family to good health and happiness. Wish you the best. Stephanie

    1. Thank you! :) This skirt is one I admired in Target, then found not too long later at a second-hand store (!). Yes, won't it be lovely?!

  7. The cardigan is a good idea! Our church is always chilly, even though it's hot year-round where we live, so I always bring a scarf!
