Sunday Best and All the Rest

   Greetings, everyone! I hope that those of you who celebrate Christmas had a lovely holiday, whether it was quiet and thoughtful or lively and abundant. With the end of Christmas comes the realization that yet another year is drawing to a close. This fact brings both hope and fear, nostalgia for the past twelve months and wondering what the next twelve brings. Please join me for a brief look at this last month of the year...

   And just like that , Christmas has come and gone. I thought perhaps today's post would be a last weekends events with photos to illustrate. Instead, I present something more like photo essay with a few words of explanation. Though I don't always hold the view that a picture is worth a thousand words, I think in this case photography will help you reminiscence of Christmas day with me.

   Ah, December, the month of overlapping colds! Though disappointed to miss out on a party this week and thinking of the looming pile of work waiting for me at the office, there is a silver lining to my current malady. I have had time to 1) paint my nails (which I r arely do) and 2) finish my new blog header. What do you think? I'm excited to have a new look and a more accurate description of the content on Sunday Best. Now for a bit of the "and more" part! ;)

    How do you do folks? Christmas has come and gone again, and proved to be a good holiday for my family and I. We enjoyed time with family on Christmas Eve and fellowship with dear friends on the holiday proper, as well as times with just the three (four, counting Copper ;) of us.

  Hi friends! Can you believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2014?! What a year! It has been full of new experiences and milestones, and is a year that I won't soon forget. I'm excited to be wrapping up my first full year with Sunday Best, and even polished up my layout to kick off 2015. So, here's one last outfit post for 2014 as I look forward to a brand new set of twelve months in which to live and to blog. :)

   Happy weekend-after-Christmas friends! I hope that you've all had a beauteous week. After such a momentous occasion, it of course follows that the fashion bloggers are rolling up their sleeves (J. Crew style ;) and getting down to business on outfit posts!

  Paper bag luminaries on our front porch    Wow, is Christmas already nearly over? Last night and this afternoon my parents and I spent time visiting both sides of the family and now we are preparing to have a cozy evening at home. In the midst all the visiting and food and gifts, I've been remembering the One whose birthday is honored this holiday. Without Him, there would be nothing to be joyful about. :)      Though not on purpose, both my Christmas eve and Christmas day outfits ended up being teal with black. Perhaps teal is not a traditional Christmas color, but both outfits were festive. I've always thought shades of blue seemed appropriate for a winter holiday. :)    Above is what I wore to my aunt's house for Christmas eve. The blouse, cardigan and skirt are all thrifted. The gold bracelet I'm wearing is one that my Grandma handed down to me just last night.   ...

  (Birthday party décor)    As I suspected, I only posted once last week. Time will tell if I can remedy that this week. Happily, my busy days have resulted in fun outfits to share with you!   My personal style is not easy to define at this point. I have classic, retro, creative, and sometimes bohemian elements to what I wear. When dressing up for special occasions, my clothing choices are as varied as they are in day-to-day life.
