Outfit || Valentine's Fashion

Image
  Well readers, Valentine's Day has come and gone, but do not think it passed without this blogger putting together an apropos outfit! You may also be sure that I did not to pass up the opportunity to eat chocolate, especially that which was gifted to me by my sweet parents. I may not have had a "Valentine" in the modern sense of the word, but was thankful to have a mom and dad who love me very much, and a little dog who always wants my attention. ;)

Outfit || August in Retro

   Do you ever have one of those rare, precious bursts of inspiration in which a clear idea suddenly comes to you? Well, that's how the outfit I'm sharing today came together! After having it planned out for a few days, I wore it to church on Sunday. That sunny afternoon ended up being perfect for a photo shoot in the local garden! Mom and I met one of my co-workers and her dachshund there, and we enjoyed getting in some outfit photos and dog photography!

On Being a Bridesmaid...Round Two!

Image
Doesn't Mom match well? She was in the wedding too - she and Dad read a statement of faith. During most of the reception, I wore a cardigan.     Hello all! :) How has your week been so far? Mine has had its ups and downs, but I'm glad to be sharing with you on the blogosphere today! As you might recall, I was in a dear friend's wedding earlier this year. Because we didn't end up bringing our own camera, I waited for the official photos before writing a post. Now I'm ready to show you what I wore for my second time as a bridesmaid.

'Twas the Sunday Before Christmas...

Image
   Greetings all! :) I do believe this is my last post before Christmas. Therefore, I want to start out by wishing all of you who celebrate the holiday a MERRY CHRISTMAS ! In the midst of all the fun of lights, good food, family, friends, and gifts, do remember to think of Jesus and thank Him for coming to earth as one of us. He is the reason for every season!

The Fashion-conscious Babysitter

Image
   Hello gals! How has your week been so far? Mine has been a little hectic, but I know the Lord teaches us through all experiences! :) Yesterday I had my usual babysitting job in the morning, plus another in the afternoon; the outfit featured today is what I wore for my day of childcare.

50's Inspired Casual Outfit

     It's already Thursday, my friends! Due to certain circumstances (mainly me being easily distracted and having trouble focusing), I didn't get this post up yesterday. I thought Thursday would be a better day anyway. Right? ;) I any case, I'll stop this nonsense and get on to the outfit.

Historical Fashion How-To ~ 1950's Part One

Image
  "Part one?!" you ask. Yes, we have come to one of my favorite decades of 20th century fashion, and my inspiration abounds. Why not throw in a two-parter to keep the series going as long as possible? ;) Without further ado I give you part one of our journey into the 1950's. 1950's                             The 1950's is a decade that we in the U.S. often look on as being the "good old days" of American existence. Our economy was good, the World War was a memory, families flourished in comfortable homes, and children played safely in their neighborhoods. However, beneath all the apparent ease were hard times and social revolutions. Racial segregation, the "forgotten war" in Korea, and the rise of subcultures were also part of the era.    The different aspects of life had an affect on what people wore. The typical woman of the 1950's wore ga...

Accessories (Part One)!

Image
  As fun as it is, I have to admit that keeping up with a blog is more work than I thought it would be. :) Nevertheless, (okay, it isn't  so terribly hard), I am now writing my next post. Today, the subject is accessorizing! Because there is so much ground to cover, this will be a two-part post. I shall try to publish the next installment as soon as possible.   As far as fashion goes, accessories are the icing on the cake! Though they may not be the centerpiece of an outfit, they pull it together and decide its theme or demeanor. Sometimes a simple necklace will do, whereas on other days, a girl likes to go all out with the embellishments. Getting creative with accessories is a simple way to step up one's style.   Before I continue, I would like to note that several of the following items have been homemade by friends and family. Many thanks for their creativity!   Necklaces are probably the easiest way to add...

Indroduction and Classic 60's

Image
As this is my first post, I suppose that an apt way to begin would be to explain why I started this blog. :)  First of all, I greatly enjoy clothes. Putting together outfits is one of the ways I express my creativity. Lately, I've been wanting to share my hobby with others. Most girls want to wear cute clothes, but some don't know "wear" to start. A blog seemed like a splendid way to show others what I've found to work in the world of fashion. Also, I have pored over books about clothes and style. They are just so fun, that I thought I would try my hand at a similar, if smaller, endeavor. At the same time, another reason for starting this blog was to be different from other sources. Following are the two big differences: 1) As a servant of Jesus Christ, I will present modest fashions. Before I go further, I will say that I realize modesty is different for different people. My standard is probably too high for some and too low for others, but never outl...
