Hello there, everyone! Life is full, is it not? At any given time of year, just living can take up a lot of time and energy. Add Christmas into the mix and things get even more complicated. Blog post material isn't always easy to come by anyway when one's outfit photographer is not readily available and other plans fall through for the time being. Never fear, the blog will not lie completely dormant. Enter the wonderful world of Pinterest...

Outfit || Winter Cool

Image
Hello all, I am back from whatever rock I was hiding under! What really happened was a week with plenty of rain, an odd schedule, more than usual hours at work, and no daylight in the evening, all of which spelled trouble for getting in an outfit shoot. Yesterday afternoon I had some free time, sunshine, and an available photographer, which spelled success for an outfit shoot. Not everything was just right, as my photos ended up including shoes more conducive to marshland wandering than the ankle boots I had worn to church. However, this is the real life of a non-career blogger. Please enjoy and look forward to the cute new shoes I will show you at a later date...;)

Hello, dear readers! Has December kept you with scarcely a dull moment? I am in the midst of a busy, under-the-weather, and sometimes stressful season, but the unhappy moments can be brightened by the fun events and kind thoughts surrounding them. Through it all, we must keep on traveling the road called life and trusting that God has the best plan for all circumstances.

Neutrals + Prints

Hello all! By the time this goes live, I will be an hour away from supporting a lovely lady as one of her bridesmaids! We would appreciate your prayers that all goes smoothly. Meanwhile, enjoy some weekend blog reading, courtesy of myself and whatever super bloggers you follow. :)

Plaid Coziness

It's Decembrrrrr! You know it's winter when you fall asleep under a pile of blankets that collectively makes up twice your body weight (you guess whether or not I'm kidding). Of course, some of you are reading this and thinking that if there isn't three feet of snow outside, it's not really cold. I'm just a sensitive North Coaster. ;)

Good evn'n' readers! Today's post is something a little off of Sunday Best's beaten path; It's a Pinterest inspiration post! Yes, I know...I'm a little behind the times in the world of fashion blogging. ;) We all have to do these posts at some point we don't have outfit photos ready...or is it just me *cough*? Either way, enjoy these winter fashions that I've been liking this year!

Greetings! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start. What do you have planned? I'm hoping to rest up and shake off a cold, and of course, share this blog post! Because today's devotional is kind of long, I'll just be giving you the outfit details instead of blabbing about it. ;) I hope today's post is a bright spot in your weekend.

Eclectic Winter

Image
Over the past few years, my style has changed and hopefully, matured. From the time I got seriously interested in putting together cute outfits for myself until now, my style has been here there and everywhere. That's probably completely normal for a teenager though... ;)    Now that I'm twenty, I'm trying to dress more like a young woman than a girl. Being Paige, that means I find my own  looks instead of faithfully following trends. Some days my look is classy, some days it's boho, and on other days it's retro; what I wear depends on my mood and what is currently inspiring me. Thanks to using Pinterest for the past few months I've been exposed to a lot of rustic/eclectic/vintage fashion lately. That kind of style was a large part of today's outfit inspiration.

Hello ladies! I hope your week has been off to a lovely start. :) Here, we've been enjoying a very summery October so far. All the same, it's about time to talk about cool weather clothes - today I'd like to share with you another winter outfit styled by my mom!

Waiting for Winter

Image
H'lo all! How has your week been so far? Mine has so far consisted of still trying to shake this cold, while getting back into normal weekly stuff, as well as attending a medieval festival!    Last week in the throes of illness (obviously we weren't at death's door) Mom thought it would be fun to style a couple of outfits for me and do a photo shoot. Both of the winsome ensembles she put together have a wintry look, and as the air is beginning to chill a bit, they can be made use of before too long! Onward to the first outfit...

A Perfect Day for Blue

Image
A wonderful thing has happened - it rained! Yes, while other parts of the country are snowed in, my area is rejoicing over the long absent sight of precipitation. The rain began to fall the night before last, mellowed into a general misty dampness the next day, and poured again last night and this morning.    Perhaps the cool tones brought out by the damp air inspired me to wear cool colors of clothing yesterday. Whether or not that was the case, I tried an entirely new outfit with tops in shades of blue. The base for my outfit was one of my favorite shirts for last summer, a tee with music notes printed on it. I tucked this into my tan BCBG skirt (more on that later) and wore a chambray shirt over it. This was a combination that I had never put together before, but I like the classy yet adventurous look it has. Copper also looked charming with his turquoise leash. ;) Chambray ...

A Winter Walk in Purple and Stripes

Image
Here on the West Coast, today was a fresh and sunny winter's day! It was ideal for a walk to our friends' house. Late this morning, Mom and I set off with camera in tow.    Today I was in the mood for purple tights, so I wore them with a matching turtleneck sweater and my go-to gray and white striped skirt. Because the tights are rather thin, they needed cozy legwarmers over them. To add a bit of sparkle, I wore a necklace that I was given for my birthday. After donning my black coat and boots, I was ready to brave the elements! As it turned out, not much bravery was needed, since I ended up shedding my coat for the last part of the sunny walk. ;) Sweater ~ ?; Skirt ~ Thrifted; Tights ~ Gift; Legwarmers ~ Gift; Boots ~ Bought new at Village Shoes in Ashland, OR;  Coat ~ Gift; Necklace ~ Gift;    My mom was also dressed in cute garb today! Her new gold sweater is lovely, especially styled with h...

Take Your Summer Clothes Into Winter!

Image
Now that December has come, the temperature has definitely dropped, even in my home town's "temperate" climate. Some clothes make an easy transition into the cooler months. Your favorite maxi skirt and pair of jeans probably look just as cute with boots and a cardigan as they do with flats and a t-shirt. What about those less obvious pieces like sun dresses though? For the trickier items, I have a few tips that have helped me. Layering                 Layering clothes is something that I do just about every day. For modesty reasons, I already layer my dresses (oh, and the fact that our summer days rarely get above the 70's, at best ;) ). The transition to the cooler months just requires putting long sleeves underneath instead of short sleeves. Some dresses also look cute with a sweater over them, such as the plaid dress in the photo.    You might have to get creative...
