Review || Dress from eShakti

   Hello all! I have a special post to share today, thanks to the fashion website eShakti. This will be my second review for the company (see the first here), and I am as pleased as I was the first time around. Now, I offer my honest opinion of the garment I received.

   When I took the dress out of its packaging I was impressed by how pretty it was, and my mom commented on the quality fabric. It looks just like the photos online, with an elegant cut, beautiful knot neck bodice, and dark blue tone. It has a style reminiscent of the 1940's! Though custom styling options were available, I ordered mine as it was designed, pockets included - dresses with pockets are a definite point for eShakti!

  There was something unexpected about the dress's appearance, however. The knot neck is un-closed in the front, which doesn't meet my personal modesty preferences. After taking a look at the photos of the dress on the website, I can better see the gap in the bodice than I could in the blogger selection photos. At the same time, I probably still would have missed it. When I was ready to wear my new dress, Mom stitched up the gap for me, and that worked out just fine.

   eShakti offers custom fit options, which is indispensable for those of us who don't fit in a standard size. My measurements from the last review were saved, so I only took a couple to make sure I was the same size. The dress was a good fit, but still a little roomy - this proved to be a good thing. After being washed, it shrank and is now better-fitting where it was slightly large before. Please be aware of this if ordering custom clothing!

   I wore the dress all day Sunday, styling it with black heels, vintage-inspired hair and a fuchsia cardigan (not shown) for church. Later, I switched into tights and flats for the movie theater. The cotton/spandex fabric was comfortable for all-day wear. Elegance and comfort are a dynamic duo!

  9. Avery classic look with the black heels! Someday I'm going to have to be brave and order a dress from them. I have about two dresses in my closet, and I almost never wear them though...so it's going to take a step out of my comfort zone to do that though! Maybe I should finally find one I like from my favorite thrift store first.
