Misc || A New Look & Christmas Traditions

Ah, December, the month of overlapping colds! Though disappointed to miss out on a party this week and thinking of the looming pile of work waiting for me at the office, there is a silver lining to my current malady. I have had time to 1) paint my nails (which I rarely do) and 2) finish my new blog header. What do you think? I'm excited to have a new look and a more accurate description of the content on Sunday Best. Now for a bit of the "and more" part! ;)

When I asked for blogging ideas recently, Stephanie suggested a post of holiday traditions. Today I will share a few of my family's Christmas traditions with you. We don't have annual customs for all of the holidays, but Christmas definitely has a few. The first one is newer, while some are several years old, and others have been part of my life as long as I can remember!

Listening to Celtic Christmas music...

Delivering cookies to and receiving cookies from neighbors...

Looking at local Christmas lights...

Enjoying luminaries in our neighborhood on Christmas Eve...

Spending Christmas Eve with Dad's family at my aunt's house...

Going home to read from scripture about the birth of Christ,
 then opening a few gifts...

Opening stockings on Christmas morning...

Giving one or two gifts to Copper...

Will all of these happen this year? That, I cannot say! What I do know is that the Christmas season is a special time of year for believers to celebrate the incarnation of their Savior. May you and yours remember and take joy in Him this month!

What are some of your Christmas traditions?

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich,
yet for your sakes He became poor,
that you through His poverty might become rich.
II Corinthians 8:11

  6. What a perfect new look for your blog fits your style! Our Christmas traditions start Thanksgiving weekend when we decorate for Christmas. We always put a village & train under our tree. With a beautiful Angel on top. We put our Manger on top of the Mantel so we can see it best. We also cut cedar branches and place them on our Loved one's grave. We also put cedar branches with red bows on the posts of our front porch and entrance gate. I make favorite Christmas cookies to share with family and listen to Christmas Carols. Hope your Christmas is Blessed with good health and happiness:) Stephanie
