Outfit || Winter Print Mix

  Hello, dear readers! Has December kept you with scarcely a dull moment? I am in the midst of a busy, under-the-weather, and sometimes stressful season, but the unhappy moments can be brightened by the fun events and kind thoughts surrounding them. Through it all, we must keep on traveling the road called life and trusting that God has the best plan for all circumstances.

   One of the lovely seasonal events I recently attended was a tea party hosted by a sweet friend. Delicious tea and goodies and pleasant conversation warmed by a toasty fire were pleasant things to fill a Saturday afternoon with. Of course, I was dressed accordingly in an outfit at once feminine and wintry.

   My quintessential plaid wool skirt, a Forever21 piece owned by a few other bloggers, was the foundation of my look. With it, I paired a striped tee featuring a coordinating color scheme. A braided black created a small break between the two patterns. Riding style boots were ideal for a cold, somewhat muddy day. "Crowning" my look was a braided updo accented with a small satiny flower.

Have you ever been to a winter tea party?
Are you a pattern-mixer or a matchy-matcher?

"He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and to his seed forever.”

Excerpt from Mary's song in Luke 2

  6. Hope you are feeling better, Paige! I don't think I've gone to a tea party since I was a little girl and played tea party with my siblings (not sure if that counts). I like the flower in your hair.

    I'm usually a matchy-matcher, but I did try pattern mixing once this summer!
