Winter Bridesmaid Ensemble

Hello all! Today I had the chance to enjoy pretending to be a maid of honor and styling an outfit for the bridesmaids. Why? Weddington Way invited me to be a part of their challenge to put together a winter bridesmaid ensemble using one of their dresses. Putting together the bridal party look was fun, and I didn't have to deal with the stress of any of it being for real. ;) Click HERE to see the company's full line of bridesmaid dresses.

Of course, the dress was the main feature of the ensemble, and it was the first thing that I set to work picking out. I chose this one because of its longer length and beautiful retro cut. In keeping with the winter theme, as well as my personal favorite color palette, I selected it in the beautiful blue-green color, "Treasure". To give it a little extra coverage, I added a beautiful lace bolero in "Dove" gray.
Now for the details! Gray shoes seemed to be the perfect choice to go with the wintry colors that I had so far. These pumps from Modcloth are understated and elegant. The hairdo I chose has a bouffant look to match the 1960's feel of the dress, but its messiness and cute twists keep it from being overly formal. The makeup is bright and fun, yet not over the top. Adding sparkle to the look is a winsome butterfly wing necklace that ties in to the color palette. Finally, a "Marine" blue clutch completes the bridesmaid ensemble.

Thank you to Weddington Way for asking me to participate in this challenge!

What do you readers think of my look?
What colors would you choose for a winter wedding?

Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”

  1. This is a great post! I'm sure you enjoyed your "premiere in real life" ;) That dress reminds me of Audrey Hepburn and I love the hair and makeup choices! :) If I was having a winter wedding, my theme would probably be all white! But if I was forced to do color, I'd probably do gray :P

  3. Beautiful choices! That necklace is gorgeous! I think the color scheme and style would all be perfect for a winter wedding. My bride's maid wore a navy blue lace dress. (Though, that was late Fall, not Winter.) The rest of the wedding colors were various shades of navy and royal blue.

  5. Lovely selections, Paige! Sounds like a fun project. Can I be a bridesmaid at your wedding?! ;)

I haven't thought much on bridesmaids' dresses. A few nights back I did dream I was getting married, but I called the wedding off because I forgot *who* the groom was supposed to be and decided to have the party as an engagement party instead so I could find out. Dreadful, isn't it?

In any case, it might be a good idea for me to hold out on wedding ideas until right before I decide to get married, so I don't forget them in the mean time. Or maybe I should find a lovely place called Pinterest?

Ha, that is a funny dream. And I can tell you, you aren't the only young lady who has dreamed of marrying a "mystery man."
You would have enter Pinterest at your own risk. It's a great place to find ideas for weddings and everything else you can think of but it's admittedly addicting. ;) Hee hee!
