Photography || Spring Green & Creekbanks
Hello, readers! Today I have a few photos to share with you from a sunny weekend in April. My parents and I went for a drive to the redwoods to soak up some rays and drink in the fresh air. For me, part of the enjoyment of being outdoors is capturing the beauty of God's creation.
The speed and ease of taking digital photos has certainly made photography accessible to the masses, and now many people list it as one of their hobbies. Perhaps in some ways this has downplayed the years of learning and effort that professional photographers put into their work. After all, they have gone light-years beyond "auto"!
At the same time, advances in modern photography have given many people the ability to take pleasure in making beautiful art. They don't need a dark room or thousands of dollars to get started. Photography may be a relaxing hobby for them, or it may grow into a greater pursuit. As with many things in modern times, we have the luxury of choice.
What are your thoughts on modern photography? Has it made things too easy or is it one of the best things about the 21st century? May you continue to enjoy my sharing of this art form, which I hope will soon be expanded to guest posting...more on that later! :)

ReplyDeleteIn high school photography was one of my hobbies. My dad had a really nice digital camera (all automatic settings) and I would take macro-shots of flowers and photos of majestic sunsets.
Someday I want to invest in some real equipment and acquire some knowledge of *real* photography (i.e. adjusting aperture, shutter speed, photoshop, etc.) I think it definitely takes skill and practice to be "professional" but ultimately it takes an eye for beauty and a desire to explore.

I do so love God's gifts to us. Free and beautiful for us to look at and enjoy. Thank you for sharing such natural scenery from a place I would be very content to visit. Have a great weekend;) Stephanie
