Travel/Photography/Outfit || Southern Oregon

  Hello, readers! I hope your mid-week finds you with plenty of strength and energy to finish the month of September - can you believe how quickly this year is going by?! Today I have some photos to share with you of a mini-vacation my parents and I went on last weekend. It was a splendid way to bid farewell to summer.

   After a Saturday of driving, the three of us arrived in the city of Ashland late in the afternoon. We had some dinner and did a wee bit of shopping before settling in for a mellow evening in our hotel. On Sunday morning, we moved to a sweet little resort that we discovered last year.

  Next, we set off for a day of shopping, lunch, relaxing in the park, and more shopping! I found some new clothes and edible souvenirs to share with my co-workers. We made sure to get back to the resort in time for high tea, a complimentary meal of tea, scones, strawberries, and cookies. Before heading inside for another evening of relaxation, I wandered around the grounds and took pictures with (and of!) Mom.

   Mom and I both put together cute outfits for our day in Ashland on Sunday. It's one of those places that just makes a girl want to look chic. There's something exciting about putting together fun looks when on vacation, don't you think?

My Outfit Details: Top ~ Thrifted by friend; Skirt ~ Rue21; Flats ~ Target

Mom's Outfit Details: Rose top ~ thrifted; Dress ~ TJ Maxx; Leggings ~ ?; Red Converse shoes ~ ?

  On Monday, we made our way slowly home. We stopped by Grant's Pass for a little while to shop and snack. Like Ashland, it is a place with fun stores to look at, whether or not one is planning to buy. We also spent some time on the riverside, soaking up the last of summer's heat (though I was actually in the shade running away from it). That evening we arrived at home sweet home!

   Sometimes it's nice to take a little time to get away from the stresses of everyday life and do something different and fun. That's why vacations were invented, I suppose! Have you been out of town recently?

 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

  6. What wonderful pictures. You captured such beautiful scenery. It looked so relaxing and peaceful. Both of you look so cute! So glad your family had time to get away and enjoy each other in such serene atmosphere. My husband and I went to Destin Florida and enjoyed the sunshine and walking the beach, soaking in the ocean waves and collecting shells and sand dollars. I hope you are rested and enjoy your weekend:) Stephanie

  9. Ah! Oregon, the state of my nativity! Enjoyed your beautiful photos. Great shots of both you and your mom. Maybe she'll be up to doing another fashion post one of these days? I always love seeing her outfits as well.

    Sounds like a great trip. What kind of edible souvenirs did you pick up?

    1. Oh, I didn't know (remember?) that you were born there. My dad was too! :) Thank you so much! :D Yes, perhaps she will.
      I bought a gourmet milk chocolate bar (not everyone in the office likes dark) and a box of fruit-flavored "Get along with your co-workers" gum for laughs.
