Outfit || Resurrection Day Ruffles

   Hi there, readers! I hope that you have been enjoying this April week. For me, it has been fairly well-paced, which is helpful when trying to recover from a springtime cold. Sunday was a pleasant day of celebrating the Savior's resurrection, and it offered the perfect opportunity for a photo shoot with one of my new-to-me items. I suppose spring is an appropriate time of year to say "out with the old, in the the new" regarding one's closet!

   This lovely purple cardigan is a piece I would have passed up, were it not for Mom's suggestion. The ruffles are its best feature, but it also has beautiful intricate buttons which the photos don't show in detail. On Sunday I paired this frilly feminine top with another feminine garment, my beloved tulle skirt. A brown tee allowed the purple cardigan to stand out, while a sparkly necklace was the ideal complementary jewelry. Finally, neutral Mary-Jane heels kept the look light-hearted and girly.

   On Sunday morning, I attended church with my family, substitute teaching one of the children's church classes during the sermon time. I also enjoyed catching up with friends while at church. Afterwards, the three of us enjoyed egg salad sandwiches at home and had some time to rest before going to my aunt's house. We visited with Grandma and other relatives for a bit and eventually made our way back home. In the evening we enjoyed a steak dinner and later kicked back and had a movie night.

What did you do to celebrate Resurrection Day this year?

 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
 But now Christ has been raised from the dead,
the first fruits of those who are asleep.

  1. For Resurrection Sunday, Stephanie and I went to our churches' Easter breakfast (Steve stayed home as he had a bad cold). For special music during the worship service, two sisters played "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and "He Arose" on the Hand Bells. Beautiful! We rested in the afternoon. Stephanie had a choir concert that evening. The Ferndale C.Choir performed a number of songs, ending with the "Hallelujah Chorus". Wonderful day.

  4. Super cute, as always!

    My family gathered at the family farm, which isn't what normally happens but as we all moved across the state this year, it was the best option. We had lots of food and hung out, and my ten-month old niece had her first ever Easter egg hunt. I also taught a Sunday School class over Easter and I loved getting to share the amazing story of Jesus' resurrection with the kiddos. :D

  8. I love this skirt, Paige! Tulle skirts are super in right now, and I love them. Especially when paired with sweaters like yours that you wouldn't think to put them with but go together nicely. :)
