What I have to share with you today is nothing of astonishing depth or difficulty of  understanding. Though not a complex concept, it is one of the hardest to carry out. My encouragement for you and I today is this simple message - stay focused on the Lord.

If you look at the world you'll be distressed. If you look within you'll be depressed. If you look at God you'll be at rest. Corrie Ten Boom.:

As believers, we have a relationship with the King of the universe. We have the hope of spending eternity with Him in a place with no more suffering. These facts are truly amazing, but easily escape us with all the allure, distractions, and burdens of this earth. If we would only remember to turn our gaze back on the Lord, we would find these things to somehow become less overwhelming.

Staying focused on Him is a daily struggle. As long as we are in the flesh, it will be a battle. However, when we find our mindset wandering, we must stop and refocus. Nothing is more important, more exciting, or more powerful than God. Nothing. When our minds are fixed on Him, they are right where they need to be. Everything else must be viewed through what we know of Him. Is it hard? Yes, but the peace, joy, and knowledge that we are glorifying God are worth the effort. Now, let us turn our eyes upon Jesus and let the things of earth fade in comparison to His greatness.

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
Philippians 3:8

  1. Thank you for posting on this Paige! Lately I've been wavering between trusting God, knowing He has everything in control, to looking around me and the people who let me down and the unknowns and feeling so unsettled. Not a fun place to be! It's such a good reminder to focus on God. He's got this all figured out :)
