Winsome Prints

   Hello all! Happy weekend to you! :) I hope you have something fun planned for this last bit of October. Today I'd like to show you another one of my print mixing experiments.

   Today's outfit is comprised of a new(ish) striped cardigan, a floral skirt handed down to me by Mom, leggings, and my beloved brown boots. Though the cardi and skirt both have bold prints, they made a pretty statement together. I'm no expert on print-mixing, but I believe that this particular combination worked for two reasons. Firstly, they were completely different prints, so the eye of the beholder was not dizzied with stripes upon stripes. Secondly, their colors looked well together, in part because the dark blue of the cardigan pulled out the leaves of a similar color in the skirt's print. All in all, it was a successful mix!

Cardigan ~ Thrifted; Skirt ~ Hand-me-down; Leggings ~ ?; Boots ~ Ross

Do you mix prints? If so, do you have any rules for doing so?

For the Lord God is a sun and shield;

The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.Lord of hosts,

Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
Psalm 84:11-12

  3. Love the floral print on the skirt! Usually I'm not daring enough to try more than one print at a time ;)

  4. That is SO cute! I absolutely love this outfit. Its probably my new favorite :-) I like to wear a patterned (such as striped) skirt and a graphic tee. But that's about as mixed as it gets lol.

    1. Thank you! :) Yes, I know. The skirt used to be Mom's so I'm sure you've seen her wear it.

  6. Uh...no. I don't mix prints, I'm too matchy matchy! I love how it looks on you, and others I've seen, but it drives me mentally nuts when I personally try it. One of my many quirks!
    I have heard that you should stick to the same color palette (like don't mix neon print with bright print)

    1. Haha, I understand. :)
      Yes, that makes sense. I'm definitely not going to try some of the crazy, clashing stuff going on in these modern times!

  7. Hi Paige
    Love the outfit, have you consider instead of boots wearing either navy keds or saddle shoes (like the first pair on the webpage)

    I think it would be really cute.
