Simply Saturday

Hello all! How are you this fine Saturday? Is the June sunshine glowing down on you or are you enjoying a cozy overcast day? In my neck of the woods it's quite sunny - summer has come!

Today my parents and I took a drive to our county's quaint Victorian town to meet up with my mom's online friend and her family. We enjoyed a few hours of looking at shops, having lunch, and walking through the beautiful cemetery. Having the sun out was a special treat! A downside was that I decided not to bring my camera, which I later regretted.

Though my outfit pictures were taken at home instead of near Victorian architecture this was indeed the outfit I wore for today's outing. It features a new jean skirt that Mom picked up for me at a thrift store last week. There was a definite "blue" theme to my outfit (there often is!) as I added a turquoise t-shirt and navy and white striped cardigan. These pieces matched my mint painted toenails, which popped against my yellow punchwork sandals. A skinny gray belt and mint head scarf accessorized and pulled the outfit together.

What have you been up to today?
Do you ever paint your toenails?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-25

  2. Oh love your outfit!!!! I wore all blue a few days ago! :) We had all rain yesterday!! It only stopped for a couple minutes. This week hopefully is suppose to get a little warmer. In England you don't know if it will be nice and sunny one day or rainy the other. When its sunny we think its so hot!!!! But its because we haven't been in American's summers for about 5 years, so we can't rightly remember what they are like, other then they are WAY hotter! :o) So where exactly do you live? We lived in Urbana, Ohio when we were in America. Now we live in Gainsborough, England which is a couple hours away from London, England. :)

    1. Thank you! :D Oh, is it one of your favorite colors too?
Haha, that sounds kind of like my area...you can't be too sure what the weather will do. :) I'm in the northern part of California. It's so neat that you've lived in England for 5 years.

    2. I guess it is now! ;) I'm wearing a blue skirt and a blue jacket today! :D
:) About 13-14 years ago we were in Huntington, England as Daddy was a pastor at a church. But then we went back to America for all those years before coming back five years ago. :) We first thought that God was leading us to Lincoln, England, but He was leading us to Gainsborough, Lincolnshire! Gainsborough is a small town compared to some towns in Lincolnshire! :)

  7. Blue looks great on you! What a great find that denim skirt is! I am always on the look out for a jean skirt that is modest, stylish, and in my size. All three haven't occured at the same time yet.

    1. Thanks Jill! :) Yes, they are SO hard to find. I'm considering having mom hem this one so that it is more knee-length, but we'll see. :)

  9. Ah ha! The nerve of some posts that dare to exist without a comment from yours truly! I seem to have caught another one here!

(ooh, and please don't remind me that your posts don't exist solely for me to comment on, I prefer to live in blissful ignorance of the fact...)

This is an awesome outfit! I love it, and I think the setting you chose for the photos worked out nicely. It sounds like you had a fun day shopping, and walking through a peaceful cemetery would be a good way to cap off the day's activities. (Ah, I hope/assume it was peaceful anyway...)

Switching between winter and summer shoes takes a bit of adjusting for me. I just bought a couple nice pairs of sandals at my favorite thrift store the other day...but today when I went shopping I was still wearing my leather boots. After loving wearing them all winter, it's hard to quit! But at least it was a bit overcast today, so I had a semi-good excuse. I just hope it doesn't take me as long transitioning back from summer to winter shoes...it would really be awkward wearing sandals during the first snow in November!

Blessings to you and have a great evening!

    1. Ahaha! How dare this post evade you.
Thank you! :D And it was peaceful except that it's a very steep hike up to the top!
Oh my! Yes, it can be hard to switch. I think this is the first year (perhaps at least since I was a wee one) that I've worn sandals at home.
      Enjoy your new week! :D
