In The Black

  Good Tuesday my friends! This is the first Tuesday in which I've been able to stay home all day in a long time. As a matter of fact, it's the first of any day I've been home all day in......well, I can't remember! ;)

  Last Friday was an "out on the town" day for me and my bestie. We sometimes dress in coordinating outfits when we get together, and this particular day was an "all black" occasion. Neither the day nor my clothes were overly warm, so I stayed cool in my monochrome outfit while enjoying the Japanese market, pet store, toy shop, and bakery. After getting home, it was a different story, and I was in a t-shirt not long after these photos were taken. ;)

   My outfit's point of interest was this sheer black polka dot blouse, which I layered with a tank and cinched in with a shiny belt. It is a unique and pretty piece, but so far I haven't had much opportunity to wear it. The other elements of the outfit were comprised of a knee-length skirt and my beloved black flats. Because of its classic elements and fun blouse (and a lack of dark makeup), my outfit was classy rather than goth or emo.

      Sorry for nagging, but if you are interested in winning a free pair of glasses, check out my last post HERE. Of course, it's not really nagging if I'm reminding you that you could get a really cool free thing though! :) The giveaway closes when Saturday turns to Sunday on the eastern coast, so be sure not to delay if you want to enter.

Have you ever worn all black just for fun?

If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
Psalm 139:11-12

  1. Lovely outfit. I haven't worn all black for a while, but I find it a really classy colour, especially for formal wear

  2. Great verse, Paige, and I like the blouse! I don't really remember wearing all black at any point. I like black, but usually with something else in it (tiny white polk-a-dots on my top today). I have been worried pure black would be hard on my pale complexion, but maybe if I wore my hair down, like you did, it would make up for it...probably worth a try!

    1. Haha, I guess it is that way for you! :) It makes you look professional. ;) When I was in a choir we had to wear a blue shiny shirt and all black, or complete black if we didn't have the shirt!
      Thanks!
