Style School: Classic

   Good day, readers! I am excited to announce that today I am starting a new series! Last week, a reader commented asking for resources that would explain the different styles I talk about. Though I was able to point her to a great series other bloggers did, I remembered my dream of writing my own series teaching  ladies how to dress in specific styles. The time is finally right, and I am happy to introduce you to "Style School"!

  This style is defined by timeless pieces that would be just as at home on Grace Kelly as they are on a modern wearer. A lady dressing in classic style is dressing elegantly and conservatively. Her outfits will consist of many basics, and will not be overly dramatic. She can be ready for the office, fine dining, a wedding, or nearly any casual event, depending on how dressed up or down she is. Classic style is a mature and ladylike fashion that is an appropriate choice for many occasions.

    My classic outfit was an elegant-yet-comfortable look that I wore to work and Friday Night Fellowship. True to classic style, I used basic pieces, basing my outfit on a plain black skirt and a beloved gray cardigan (both of these pieces have been really useful to me!). A pink t-shirt layered beneath the cardigan added a color pop, but didn't negate from the classy look. My only accessory was a black belt, which cinched in my slightly-large cardi. Gray tights kept me warm and matched the cardigan, while black flats were the ideal shoe choice for this ensemble.
