Outfit || Indie Days

   Greetings, readers! I hope that your week is off to a productive, not-too-stressful start. This week is the last of July and summer is quickly passing (unless of course, you are in the Eastern hemisphere ;)). It makes me want to be sure and get in favorite summer pastimes before the season changes again!

   Today's outfit is a combination of pieces that you have seen here before. You see, a lady can't always have new clothes, especially when she's saving for a car. ;) Learning how to recombine old pieces in to new outfits is all part of the real life fashion adventure.

   Starting with my ruffled lace vest, I built a look that blended both classic and indie elements. I layered my vest over a graphic tee, fastening it with a handmade earring (sadly, this was hidden in the ruffles of the vest during the photo shoot). Lending a classic silhouette, the beloved gray a-line was my skirt of choice. My new leather Mary-Janes kept my feet comfortable while walking around the dealership, their own style combining boho and classic features.

Outfit Details: T-Shirt ~ Thrifted; Vest ~ Conisgnment; Skirt ~ Thrift or Consignment; Earring ~ Gift; Shoes ~ Local quality shoe store

Have you ever used an earring as anything besides an earring?
Are there any other unusual fashion fixes you've tried?

Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
Philippians 2:14-16

  2. I like your pony tail flipped on your shoulder. It looks really cute. Your vest really accents your outfit nicely. I like going through my clothes and finding new combinations. I used a long scarf to wrap around my waist once to hold pants that were to big, ha ha. I hope you get the car of your dreams. I drive a 2002 Ford Escape, it's sporty and fun to drive. I like to sit up high easier to see. It a mazes me how long ago the Bible was written and how it fits today's society as well. Have a great week ;) Stephanie

      Yes, it is so true that the Bible is always relevant.

  3. I love this outfit. You may know that I am a charity shop addict so I rarely buy new clothes but I help the charities in the process!

    I hope that you are able to buy a car soon.
