New Dress and Heeled Oxfords!

Afternoon, friends! I hope you are having a good week so far. How's the weather where you live? In my neck of the woods we had a sudden transition from summer to fall during the early part of last week. Last Sunday I wore a wool skirt to church, whereas the week before I wore sandals to the evening service! It's definitely time for a wardrobe transition.

This month has afforded a couple of shopping opportunities, including the annual rummage sale at our local fairgrounds and a trip to the mall with my mom. I got two t-shirts and a dress at the rummage sale, the latter of which I will be showing you today. My parents bought me the dress, which was $3. My grand total of the day for the two t-shirts was $2, plus a bit of tax. Not bad eh?

Last Saturday I wore my new dress for the second time since buying it. The color, print, cut, and drape of this piece are all so pretty. Because of its muted tone, I thought it made a good autumnal statement with my burgundy camisole. An oatmeal cardigan and matching knee-socks bumped up the warmth factor. I bought the darling heeled oxfords that very day and switched my boots for them on the way home! Altogether, this outfit celebrates fall with vintage flair.

By the way, I added a poll to my sidebar to see what my readers are most interested in,
so be sure to take a look!

Have you ever shopped at a rummage sale?
How are you dressing differently this fall?

Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great,
but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest
to send out laborers into His harvest.

The fairgrounds' rummage sale sounds like such a great event to look forward to each year.

  3. Lovely outfit! Sounds like you got a great deal at the rummage sale! I especially like the second photo. My only change in how I dress for the fall would be that I dress much warmer--more insulated vests!

The weather here has been...bleh! We've had snow in our forecast already! It just seems so wrong to see snow on the ground when it is only October!
