Chambray Tunic

Top o' the evening to you ladies! Are you keeping off the chill of this November day? Or do you live somewhere that's getting warm and toasty?  It's definitely cooling off here on the Pacific Coast. :)

Today's outfit is an example of something that absolutely, positively needs a belt. Do you know the kind of outfit I'm talking about? It's the kind that needs a little waist definition to keep you from looking like a sack of potatoes! At times like these, it's useful to have a small collection of belts. I now have four belts (one of which I never wear and should probably get rid of), plus one that I borrow from my mom a lot. It might sound like a lot, but I have definitely found them to come in handy!
This chambray tunic is cute, but in order to wear it with a full skirt, it needs something to cinch in the waist. On this particular day, I paired it with a knee-length floral skirt. The blue color of my top pulled out the blue flowers of the skirt, while the embroidery on the breast pocket matched the other blooms. Though the colors went together brilliantly, I required a belt in order to make the two pieces really work well with each other. My well-loved crochet + faux leather belt came to the rescue, and then I had a fun outfit that was all ready to go!

Tunic ~ Hand-me-down from Mom (she added embroidery); Skirt ~ Friend Find; Leggings ~ Target; Flats ~ Target?

How many belts do you have? Do you have outfits that you always wear them with?
Any fun belt tips to share?

Of whom shall I be afraid?

  1. You are right, Paige, the belt adds a very nice touch! I have 2 belts which I just about never wear...instead I only wear shirts that are tailored to have some definition or sweaters. I limit my possibilities, so I'll keep your tips in mind if I ever feel like expanding my wardrobe. Thanks!

Tailored tops are definitely easier to wear and match to skirts. :) You're welcome for the tips!

  3. I love the bow belt!
Elastic and leather belts are my favorites and I have about two or three of each. :) I don't use them much since I learned how to alter my shirts to fit properly. Perhaps I need to pull them out again.

Ooh, yes that would help. Yes, it would be fun to see a post with your belts!
