My Soul is ANCHORed

Afternoon, dear readers! Do you know one of my favorite things about blogging? Communication! I like it when you tell me about yourself in comments. I like it when you vote in polls that I put up. I enjoy knowing when my post has encouraged you. Though you and I may be divided by miles, states, or seas, I value my relationship with you. :)

Today, I based my entire outfit on a new tank-top...what can I say, I like to wear new things ASAP. ;) I bought this piece last weekend, having had it in mind since last week's mall shopping trip. The cute anchors are just what satisfy my nautical taste. The tank gave new life to my yellow sweater that has been around the block a few times. The blue skirt, white leggings, and striped shoes all fit in with the color scheme set by the tank and give it a slightly nautical flair.

I was trying to think of what to write today because the things I had been considering just weren't working out. Hence, here's a little update about my life. Just when I was considering looking for a regular job, I acquired a babysitting job for a weekly ladies Bible study. In addition to that job, my weekly cleaning job, another twice-monthly childcare job, and random babysitting for a couple of families, I have enough work for now. There are times to save money, but also times to spend. Though I've mostly been doing the former (despite recent new clothes...*hem-hem*), I hope to be making a biggish purchase soon...it's something that will benefit the blog...can you guess what it is?

Enough about me...please tell me about you!
What has been new in your life lately?
Have you made any exciting new purchases?

Be sure to vote in the new poll on the sidebar! :) (select the text to make it legible)--->

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

  1. Another great post, Paige! LOVE the theme! But that's a given. ;) How's the babysitting going?

    1. Thanks Stephanie! :D It's going pretty well. Ironed out another bump today, so next week should go smoothly in the "knowing-what-to-do-in-this-situation" department. :)

  4. I really, really like your tank top and shoes! I have to admit that I am getting a bit in to the recent nautical fads.

My guess is a new camera...I can't think of much else that would benefit the blog unless you changed platforms. I will wait in suspense for the answer. :)

  5. Love the outfit! You paired it perfectly. :-) As for exciting purchases, my friend introduced me/took me to a consignment store where I found a shirt for $12. Pretty expensive for a thrift store, but when I looked online (at the brands website), it was for $139! I was pretty excited to get a huge deal. ;-) and my guesses are exactly the same as Bethany's. :-)

Oh, that's exciting! It's always fun to find high-end brands (at much lower prices) at thrift/consignment stores. :)

Your blog is one of my favourite places to visit and you are such a sweet blogging friend...just because we are divided by such a great distance, I still feel as if I know you:)
I love your outfit...it has a lovely 'sporty' flair to it and oh! Your shoes are just too cute!
Hmmm...is it a laptop or a new computer...? Do tell! We are all in suspense:)

  7. Cute outfit! I have no idea what you will be purchasing for the blog ......... a new computer??? :) I voted for the makeup thing. :) I voted for never wearing it .... but every once in a while I wear a tiny bit of mascara but that's not that often. I also wear a tiny bit of foundation. I couldn't find one to vote for that was for what I do so I just put that one in.

    1. Thanks Rosalyn! :) Good guess! ;)
Okay! You could make the foundation/powder/concealer thing just count for one of them. A little bit of mascara and foundation sounds like a good amount. I didn't start wearing eyeshadow regularly until I was 16. :)

Lately I have been up to blogging and looking for a regular job, so pretty similar to you. No exciting purchases, unless you consider trail mix exciting. :)

  9. Paige, I absolutely love anchors! Last summer I purchased a coral button-up with white anchors from Old Navy and it was one of my favorite tops until it received an irremovable ink stain. I also totally relate to building an entire outfit out of one new piece of clothing. I can't NOT wear something right after I've bought it. :)

I haven't made any purchases lately though I am considering buying some new exercise clothing/gear (it's so expensive!) I'm also enjoying getting out my spring/summer clothes as the weather gets warmer.

    1. Oh, that's so fun! It's too bad your top got an ink stain. :-S I'm glad I'm not the only one who is so eager to wear new clothes - but that's why we buy them, right? :D
Ooh, sounds like a good plan! :)

  10. Lovin' the new header, Paige! Oh, I'm excited to see what you have up your sleeve! Perhaps a new camera? I've been wishing for a fancy camera of my own, but my goodness, I've got some serious saving to do before I can afford that! Super cute nautical outfit as well!
