A Day for Gray

Ev'nin' to you, readers! How are you doing this November weekend? I'm tired from a day of errands, and a collection home-based accomplishments. Blogging just my be my final chore before sitting back to relax for the rest of the evening!

Today's outfit features my ever-useful gray A-line skirt. I paired it with my brown and lavender button-up blouse, which cinched in with a skinny belt. Purple tights (not seen with shoes on!) added warmth and a color pop, while a floral scarf lent the outfit modern chic. While running errands, I wore a denim crop jacket and quintessential riding boots. A gray cap completed the look, giving it a fun, stylish element.

Tomorrow our church is having a Thanksgiving potluck after the morning service, so Mom has been preparing some edibles this evening! On the holiday proper we plan to spend time with some friends. Last year we spent Thanksgiving with someone who was from.....Virginia?.... and as it turns out, he didn't like whipped cream on his pumpkin pie. Someone else later said "Oh yes, Virginians (if that was the state) don't like whipped cream on their pie." So, I must ask...

Do you like whipped cream on your pumpkin pie?
What else would you eat with or on your pumpkin pie?

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6-7

  1. A lovely skirt - it looks so warm and versatile. I also like your hat - it suits you.

We have just had the start of cold weather in the UK so I will be getting my winter wardrobe ready this weekend

  4. Hi Paige! That is a great outfit, and the scarf adds a nice touch. Super cute:)

Today during our Christmas choir practice, the ladies had a quick break while the men practiced their song. So us girls walked (or ran) to the kitchen for some leftover pumpkin pie from the church potluck. We all took a slice and then covered them in heaping mounds of whipped cream:) It made me laugh when you mentioned whipped cream and pie!

My answer: Yes, I like whipped cream on my pie;)

Blessings to you my dear friend!

  6. I've never heard of someone not liking whipped cream on their pumpkin pie! That's my favorite part! I'd be okay with skipping the pie and just eating the cream. :)
Paige, you look super cute in hats! I think you should wear them more often.

  7. That is a beautiful outfit Paige! I especially love the skirt; it's very classy. And I love the fact that you found most of the items at thrift or consignment stores. I think it's about time for me to go thrift shopping again!

The Thanksgiving potluck sounds wonderful, and I hope you have a great time with friends and a very happy Thanksgiving!

We don't always have whipped cream around the house, but when we do, I enjoy it with pie...really improves the taste! We've discovered that sweet potato pie tastes as good or better than pumpkin pie...it's very similar, and so most years we have sweet potato pie instead of pumpkin pie. This year though we grew *a lot* of pumpkins, so I bet we'll be having pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving...and for many days to come.

Oh, neat! I don't know that I've ever had sweet potato pie, but I like sweet potatoes, so I probably would enjoy it. :)
