True Blue

Hi all! I am having the pleasure of a laid-back Saturday. Life is quite busy, and it is good to have a day of rest. :) What are you up to this mid-January weekend?

Today I set out to create an adventurous bohemian look for the blog. What formed instead was a combination of boho and classic styles, which accurately reflects my personality. An artistic girl with strong convictions who works in an office and also plays the hammered dulcimer is bound to be the one to tie the opposite looks together. ;)

My outfit's focal point is the beautiful blue scarf which a friend brought back from Israel. Because of its beautiful design and foreign origin, it gives the outfit its adventurous element. Meanwhile, a knee-length blue skirt makes a great base, as it does for many outfits. A gray cardigan keeps me warm, as does a pair of teal tights (in fact, I was too warm for this day and eventually shed my scarf!) To complete the look, lacy cuffs peek out from brown riding-style boots.

Outfit Details: Scarf ~ Gift; Cardigan ~ Gift; Skirt ~ Modcloth via giftcard; Tights ~ Target;
Boot Cuffs ~ Gift; Boots ~ Ross

Does your style ever reflect your personality? If so, how?

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

  1. Dear Paige, you look so lovely. I really like your scarf from Israel, the colors are bold and could go with a lot of outfits. Your outfit flows nicely together. Your hair swept to the side is very pretty on you. I like to wear colorful leggings with my sweater dresses along with a turtle neck of one of the colors from the leggings. It ties my outfit together with boots and keeps me warm at the same time. It fits my personality I like fun, colorful, happy outfits, with modest style. Makes for a positive attitude to my day.
    Blessings to you,Stephanie M.

Well, a good source is a series back on the Boyer Family Singers Blog there is a good series about different styles: http://boyerfamilysingers.blogspot.com/search/label/Finding%20Your%20Style.
I'm considering doing a series about the different styles myself and you just encouraged me to do it even more! :)

  6. Oh, I love this outfit, sweet friend...your scarf is just gorgeous and how special it is all the way from Israel and a gift from your friend! I too think clothing should reflect personal style...my sister Nancy is a perfect example of this - she loves boho and such clothes, bordering on the ''artsy'' side! Ha.
Me...I like things smart and also simple...whatever takes my fancy on any given day! Sending you hugs, dear Paige!

    1. Thank you so much Kelly-Anne! That's so neat how you and sister each have your own lovely style. :) Mine tends to change day by day too (as you have seen) but always is within "Paige" fashion. ;)

  11. My favorite elements of this outfit are definitely the boots+boot socks and the scarf. They add the perfect dash of flare to this otherwise classic ensemble. And blue is pretty much the best color ever on you. :)

  12. How do you like your modcloth skirt?
I heard people complain their stuff is cheaply made.
    What do you think?

    1. Good question Tabitha! :)
My skirt is well-made and has held up well. However, it's bigger than the size chart said, and has a mysterious little spot of mystery substance stuck to it that shows up now and then.
ModCloth sells different designers, so I imagine quality varies depending on who makes the garments. Mine is from "fervour".
I know of very satisfied ModCloth customers. My only caution would be to buy something that has already been reviewed, to make sure it fits true to size. :)
