Giveaway Winner! / Taking Time to be With God

Last night, the time had come to choose the winner of Sunday Best's Blogoversary Giveaway.

All the names were in the hat.

The suspense grew as I mixed up the entries.

Who would it be?!? How intense could my face get?!?
( I have to post this pic to remind you that most of what ends up on here is the
cream of the crop out of many silly shots :P)

*drum roll please*

We had a winner! Congratulations Cassie! You just won a purse! :D Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway. It was a great way to celebrate a year of blogging.

So, what have you ladies been up to lately?  I am quite busy this week (yes, I said that AGAIN) with a small cold to boot! This whole "being an adult" thing can get kind of exhausting. ;) Anyway, I just might be able to get an outfit post up tomorrow afternoon or evening. It's been far too long!
Whatever you are up to, I hope that you are taking time to be with the Lord each day. Even when your day seems completely full, try your best. Most of us have little nuggets of time we could be spending with the King. For example, I brought my Bible to my babysitting job today and had devotional time while the baby I was caring for took a nap.
Sometimes, I can feel extra stress coming on when I haven't had quiet time with God in a couple of days - that's right folks...I'm not always faithful with my quiet times! Those dry spells remind me of how much I need it. Though we should not be so strict with our devotional times that it just makes things more stressful, being faithful does take discipline, because our flesh doesn't want to sit around praying and reading the Word. I encourage you to find the balance between schedule and spontaneity in your walk with the Lord and take time to be with Him.

Can you relate to having extra stress or anxiety during times when
you haven't taken time to be with the Lord?
Do you lean more towards have a strict, scheduled quiet time or a relaxed one?

" But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul."
~Deuteronomy 4:29

  1. Great post, Paige! Congrats to Cassie! :) I can totally relate to having more stress and anxiety when I start to neglect spending time with God. I mainly read my Bible right when I wake up and again before bed. If I have an extremely busy day I still try to read at least once a day. I also really enjoy the devotionals on the Billy Graham app. They are short, but I am almost always able to take something from what I've read.

    1. Thanks!
It sounds like you really try to be faithful in the Word! Hm, I've never heard of that! I don't have a smartphone, but a devotional app sounds like a good idea.
