Chocolate & Mint

How do you do, dear readers? This is the first time in a long time that I'm writing a post that includes outfit photos taken the day of posting....*gasp* Of course, you wouldn't have known about this not-so-dastardly deed if I hadn't told you. ;)

Today's outfit is a classy and comfortable look consisting of mint, brown, and blue pieces - my Dad and I thought it looked like mint chip ice cream! The blouse is one of my favorite pieces, and it ended up looking cute with a brown cardigan over it. My skirt makes a neutral base for cooler colors. I decided that this was the perfect occasion to pull out my minty striped knee-socks. Wearing brown boots over the socks echoed the dessert-like color scheme of my tops and made this a well-coordinating outfit.
My hairdo today is courtesy of my Mom. Because the wedding I'm in will be in just a week, she decided to practice doing a bridesmaid look. I like the elegant yet slight messiness of this updo. We may try out one or two more styles before the wedding. Mom will be doing my hair for the actual ceremony as well - I'm not skilled enough to do it myself for something this important!
So, do you notice anything else different about me...? I'll let you guess. ;)

What do you think is different about me?
Do you prefer to do your own hair or have someone else do it for a big event?
Fashion bloggers - Do you usually take outfit photos the day of posting or before?

  1. New glasses! Actually, in the second picture, I thought you had aqua mascara on your left eye, but it's the earpiece of your glasses. :)

I like when someone does my hair anytime, whether it be for a special event or just for everyday. I absolutely love your up-do, perhaps you could do a how to...I would love to see how your mom did it! Blessings!

  8. New glasses?
Love your outfit, especially the colors.
As to your fashion blogger question-it depends. Occasionally I'll take and post photos the same day, but it rarely happens, I usually don't have time.

Heh-heh, yeah. We have to fit in stuff where we can.
Aw, thanks! Mom did a really good job and the camera settings + that area went really well together. :)

  10. I noticed the glasses as well--they look great!

This has to be a new all-time-favorite of your outfits! Love the classy look, and your hair-do looks awesome! Of course my decision could be biased by the fact that mint-chip is my favorite ice cream...but I wouldn't let a thing like that influence my good judgment (or would I?).

    Love it!

  12. I love your hair style! I usually do my own hair as I really enjoy doing it. And with three feet of hair it's usually too much for anyone who's not use to it to handle. :-)
I tend to take the photos a few days before posting but occasionally I'll take them and upload immediately.
