Dainty// God's Love Pt. 1

Hello and happy Saturday dear readers! The week is winding to a close yet again. It's been a week of work and volunteering, relaxing at home with a cold, saying a goodbye, buying a new lip color, and sunshine with friends and family. What have you been up to?

This new top is another thrift store find by Mom. There has been rather an influx of clothing in my closet lately; Though I make sure there is also an outflow, I'm not so sure that the latter is equal to the former. Do any of you gals know the struggle that I'm talking about?

In any case, this find is definitely a beauty! It's a work of daintiness with buttons, lace, embroidered dots, pleats, and a flowing design. Yesterday I styled it with my flare jeans, low black heels, and a time-keeping pendant. It made for a satisfying, feminine look! However, I just realized after uploading photos that the right collar of my top is tucked in. Oh well. ;)

Lately I've been doing a personal Bible study on God's love. I use our Bible dictionary and concordance to look up the meanings of words translating "love" and "lovingkindness", and then look up and write down pertinent scriptures. Below are some findings of Old Testament study. Enjoy the reminder and/or discovery of God's love!

ahabah - This word appears about 55 times, and it represents several kinds of love...*

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
~Zephaniah 3:17 **

hesed - "loving-kindness; steadfast love; grace; mercy; faithfulness; goodness; devotion. ..."

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
~Psalm 36:7

Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
~Psalm 42:8

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
~Psalm 103:4

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
~Isaiah 63:7

* Word definitions are taken from Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary .
** Scriptures are from King James Bible.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:16

  1. Dear Paige, what an adorable top! I love the lace and small polka dots and how it flows. You look so cute in it with jeans. I enjoyed reading all the scriptures. My husband and I took two walks on our farm today and saw several beautiful butterflies and heard birds singing. Those are special gifts from God to us. We are very blessed . Hope you have a good Labor Day weekend. Blessings Stephanie M.

  5. I find it humorous that your collar was tucked it. There was a picture of myself in a dress with a belt that I really liked but the belt was slightly off center so now the picture just drives me crazy!

    1. Haha! Oh dear...it's so funny how these things happen. I had just fixed my necklace here too (though it liked to stay /inside/ the shirt).

    Paige, you look beautiful!!!
And oh. I know the struggle. Trust me.
Just last week my mom, sister and I went on a little shopping day trip together and when I came home I was like, "Why on earth did I buy more clothes??"
Buuuuut, I do try to donate and pass on as many clothes as I can. Actually, thanks for the reminder! ;)
    Lovely outfit once again.
    Have a blessed week!

    1. Thanks so much for your sweet comment Ashley! <3 I know, what is it with clothes? Though, to be honest my mom likes buying clothes for me more than I do...I prefer the styling part. ;) Ha, and you're welcome for the reminder.

  7. I meant to comment on this post earlier Paige and it just didn't happen. Better late than never though right?
I really liked this outfit! It looks pretty much like what I wear--minus the polka dots, I don't have anything that cute. ;)
Hesed is a very special word to me. I am awed by the fact that it is used with reference to God's relationship towards me. I am so amazed that a pure and holy God like Him, would want to show ME loving-kindness. I enjoyed reading your thoughts! Thanks for sharing!
