I tag you! You may answer in the comments below, or do a blog post. Let's dwell on happy things for a while. :)
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8
Lovely verse and so many beautiful photos! I agree with you on lavender being a wonderful scent. It is relaxing and even has in the past, by the grace of God, helped me go to sleep when I've had headaches. Come Thou Fount is an awesome song, and I love polka-dots too...I actually am wearing my polka-dot top again today!
ReplyDeleteMy lists would be:
Books: The Bible, The Law by Bastiat, The Road to Serfdom, and Silman's various chess books.
Words: Redoubtable, Sesquipedalian, beautiful, handsome, love, family, mint, chocolate, aesthetic, Machinations, Checkmate (when I say it), (And if I can add a phrase, "Crush your enemies.")
Movie/TV: The Sound of Music, Fitzwilly, Studio C, The Rockford Files, The Fall Guy, I Love Lucy, Man from Uncle, Touched by an Angel...and so many more.
Scents: Freshed baked goods and lavender.
Songs: Keep on the Sunny Side (what we've been practicing most recently), Give the World a Smile Today.
Thank you Bethany! :D Oh, I'm so glad that we agree on these things. ;)
DeleteWonderful words! I will assume the phrase refers to chess...I may or may not be wrong...;)
I like The Sound of Music, Studio C and I Love Lucy too!
Most commonly that phrase does refer to chess for me. ;)
DeleteHaha, okay. ;) Gotta watch out for that Bethany Carson...
DeleteWhat a charming/uplifting post ^_^ I always struggle with "what's your favorite ______?" lists because I usually have fifty or more in each category, (ha) but I'll give it a try! (And I won't do obvious things like the Bible and such)
ReplyDeleteBooks: Jane Eyre, Far From the Madding Crowd, Green Dolphin Street, Persuasion, To Kill a Mockingbird, all Sherlock Holmes stories
Words I love/things I always say: Unpleasant, unfortunate, insinuate, fatal mistake, good sir, anticlimactic, handsome, beautiful, breathtaking
Movies/TV: The Odd Couple (movie), The Dick Van Dyke Show, Star Wars VII, well, Star Wars in general...Inception, The Winter Soldier and thousands more...
Scents: Lilacs, bread, butter, human skin (not as creepy as it sounds) clean linens, newborns, cream
Songs: Too many. But favorites include: the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy, most stuff from the 70s and 80s, some favorite hymns like I Need Thee Every Hour, Jesus Paid it All, most movie soundtracks that are epic, songs from musicals, etc. ;P
yep, that was concise....
Thank you! :D Right? Narrowing down is always difficult.
DeleteFun choices! :) I didn't remember you'd ever read To Kill a Mockingbird! I would ask how it was, but apparently it was good. ;)
How could I forget anticlimactic...and suspicious, for that matter. ;)
Yeah! I could've sworn we discussed TKaM (the book) but I guess not ;P I read it over a weekend camping and couldn't put it down. :) You've seen the movie and I still haven't, though....
DeleteHm! I don't remember, but that doesn't always mean anything. >.<
DeleteHeh, yes, you'll have to watch it.
J.J. Heller is wonderful! Love Young Victoria and the word "indeed". Great to see your answers!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) Yes, JJ Heller is my favorite artist. :) And Young Victoria is such a good romance...we just like to fast-forward certain scenes. ;)
DeleteAbsolutely love that version of Sense & Sensibility!! A favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! It is so well-acted, and clean too. :)
Delete"Wives and Daughters" is one of my favorite books! It is probably my favorite book by Gaskell, though it's kind of a toss-up between W&D and North & South. The ending is a bit abrupt since Gaskell wasn't able to finish it before she died, which makes me sad. Have you ever watched the adaptation?
ReplyDelete*goes to complete this tag on her own blog*
Thanks for sharing, Paige! :D

Oh neat! :D I like N&S too. I've been watching the movie version of W&D for years, and really like it. The book finally made its way to our local library this year!
DeleteI look forward to seeing your answers. :)
Oh, what a sweet tag and I just love all your answers...hugs to you my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks muchly! *hugs back*
