Style School: Retro
Greetings readers! My weekend has dawned bright and sunny. How about yours? It's time for the last Style School post (though I cannot say that definitely ;) )! Let's go retro!

On the other hand, retro fashion is modern clothing inspired by a past era. Thedifferencebetween.net also says that retro has a more updated and polished look. Perhaps you have a darling fit-n-flare dress that looks like a modern-made 1950's design -that's retro! This style is ideal for a gal that loves the look of the "old days", but doesn't have access to actual vintage clothing or prefers to have a modern spin on the classics. Retro is a great look for someone with a bright, unique personality!
For today's outfit I used a new-to-me patterned brown shirt-dress that has a retro flair. To add to the old-fashioned look, I put on a dainty cardigan (and proceeded to look like mint-chip ice cream)! Light beige Mary Jane heels were a sweet and ladylike shoe choice. Meanwhile, my hair and makeup were also done in retro fashion, pulling the whole look together.

One of the best things about personal style is that you don't have to wear the same "look" every day. You can wear Parisian on Monday and Indie on Tuesday if you like. You can mix Boho and Classic! Some styles naturally overlap. I hope that this series will help you put together more fabulous outfits.
Which of the styles in this series is your favorite?
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good
and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I love everything about this outfit Paige! The dress, the sweater, the nude heals--great combo!
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite styles are and always will be classic in the winter and Boho in the summer. But, as you said we can mix up and wear different styles whenever we want to and I frequently do. :)

Thank you muchly Natasha! I am happy with my new dress!
DeleteYou got the retro look down for sure. Looks great! I personally don't like the bright lipstick. I like lighter more natural colors, but it fit's the look!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! Yes, the bright lipstick goes with the 50's theme.
DeleteI love that brown polka dot dress! Where did you find it? Or did you make it?

Thanks very much Ashley! :) I found it at a local consignment store. The brand is Merona, so it was probably at Target.
