Style School: Bohemian

   Well, hi there readers! How is your weekend going so far? Mine has involved being really tired... But I'm glad to have the chance to write this fun post. We're going to take quite a turn from the last two posts in the series and explore the style known as...

 Bohemian (aka Boho)

   A Bohemian person has been defined as someone living an unconventional lifestyle, and the word originated as a name for Gypsies. Therefore, Bohemian fashion is outside the society box. It can be casual or glamorous, and include elements inspired by many cultures. Rich patterns, folk-wear inspired garments, natural fibers and loose, flowing pieces are all part of the style. Boho fashion is ideal for the girl who appreciates individuality and comfort.

Examples of Boho Pieces: Tribal Print or Traditional Folkwear Inspired Dress; Tiered Maxi Skirt; Crocheted Vest; Peasant Top; Gold Jewelry; Patterned Scarf; Moccasins; Suede Boots; Flat Sandals;

    My boho look consisted of a piece that I've a had for a while and a couple hand-me-downs from Mom. Making the ideal bohemian base for the ensemble, was my old friend, the tiered brown maxi skirt. Meanwhile, beautiful embroidery and sequins on the short-sleeved cardigan gave the outfit part of its boho flair. A long-sleeved orange tee tied in with embroidery's bright colors. Brown flats completed the outfit.

Outfit Details: Tee ~ Hand-me-down; Cardigan ~ Hand-me-down; Skirt ~ Thrift or Consignment Store; Flats ~ Walmart

Happy Sunday everyone!

 But I am poor and sorrowful;
Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.
  I will praise the name of God with a song,
And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
Psalm 69:29-30

  7. You look very nice in Boho! It seems the most relaxed style to me. While I do like it on others, I don't feel comfortable in it unless I'm actually relaxing around the house.
