Let The Week Begin!

It's Monday. It's the day that greets us with obligations that we have little motivation for. Again? we ask ourselves. The weekend was too short. We sometimes need a little extra encouragement on days like these. Here are my suggestions for you to gain some cheer this Monday:
1) Read Romans 8, Psalm 91, Psalm 23, or find another uplifting passage of scripture, even if it's just one verse.
2) Eat some chocolate...or potato chips...or whatever else floats your boat.
3) Remember that Jesus still loves you, no matter what circumstances you're in, and wants to hear from you about whatever you're struggling with, whether it's large or small (if you're reading this and don't have a relationship with Him yet, let me know if you want to know how to start one!).
4) Scroll down and see what I wore to cheer myself last Monday. If nothing else, it might inspire you to get out the ol' lipstick. ;)

A week ago today I decided to go vintage. Do you ever have one of those days where you don a retro inspired dress and glide some red lipstick on? Well, I was having one of those days, and my darling polka dot dress was there to do the trick. The dress is a little short for my taste, so I tried something new to make it more modest - I layered a skirt underneath it! The effect was quite pleasing, and not overly warm, since the embroidered yellow skirt is fairly light.
My beloved red belt added a pop of color and retro flair, while the denim and tulle flower in my hair picked up on the colors in the dress. A cardigan and matching knee socks kept me warm. My boots completed the outfit, and had me ready for running errands around town. The warm sun shone down on me, giving my outfit a cheery, springtime look.

There you have it, folks! I wish you a marvelous Monday. :) What do you do when you need some extra motivation?

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,Yes, I will help you,I will uphold you with
My righteous right hand.’"

  1. That is adorable! I must admit, you can rock the red lipstick! I love your vintage-inspired outfit so very much! Having a short dress can be so frustrating, but I like how you put on a skirt underneath! Perhaps I'll have to try that...
Ahh, yes...the Monday blues! But for some reason, I don't feel mundane at all today, though! Perhaps its because it is perfectly sunny out! I will keep this list handy as it works for any situation! :)
