Guest Post ~ Outfit Essentials

It's Friday! :D The weekend will soon begin, and I've got a special treat for you to kick it off. Sarah of All Things Vintage put together an excellent guest post for Sunday Best. Read on, then check out Sarah's blog and maybe give it a follow. :)

Outfit Essentials

Hi there! I'm Sarah who blogs over at All Things Vintage. I'm so excited to be doing a guest post for Paige{my very first one!} Thank you so much, Paige, for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your lovely blog! Today I'm going to share with you my go to pieces for a cute, stylish, and modest outfit.

Maxi Skirts

The first thing on my list is a maxi skirt. I love the long length of maxis because I never have to worry about it being too short when I sit down. I also never have to worry about a sudden rush of wind blowing my skirt up. Although I'm sure nothing like that has ever happened to you! ;) A neutral color{grey, black, brown, or white} is great because you can pretty much wear it with any patterned or color top. Although having a neat patterned skirt keeps your outfits fun and interesting.

Basic Tees

I love a basic solid color t-shirt whether it's a round or V-neck, long or short sleeved. They can just about go with any skirt or pair of pants; they can be dressed up or down. The possibilities are endless when it comes to a tee! A plain tee goes great with those fun patterned skirts mentioned before.

Cardigans

Cardigans are such awesome pieces for that cute layered look. There are so many styles of cardigans; classic, cropped, waterfall, oversized, etc. The great thing about cardigans is they can be worn pretty much year round. A pretty, floral, cotton one for spring/summer or a cozy, cable knit, oversized cardigan for fall/winter. Of course if you live in the South{like I do} where the summer temps can get up to 100 degrees you probably won't find me in a cardigan then...that is, if I'm even outside! ;)

Scarves

I love, love, love scarves! Did I tell you how much I love scarves?! :) A scarf can add that polished touch to an outfit. It can be the statement piece of an outfit with its fun colors or neat pattern and texture. A scarf is a great way to draw others eyes to your lovely face too! That being said a pretty necklace also adds a nice finishing touch.

Flats

I own more flats than any other type of shoe because they are so comfortable and cute. Flats can be dressy or casual. I have a black, brown, and silver pair of flats as they seem to go with anything I wear. I also have a fun pair of bright pink and a pair of turquoise flats with big bows on them which add a quirky and colorful touch to my outfits.

Denim Jackets

A denim jacket is kind of a neutral piece of clothing; it can go with the pieces mentioned above or a cute dress. You can even wear it with a great pair of jeans...just make sure the denims complement each other and don't clash! :)

So there you have it the go to pieces in my wardrobe which make for a polished and cute outfit! What are your go to pieces?

Love in Christ,

~Sarah~

Thanks for the great post, Sarah!

  1. Great tips! I also think maxis are essential (and I wear them a lot as some of you might have noticed ;D). Thank you for sharing!

  2. Very nice outfit! I completely agree with your essentials! I love my maxi skirts! They are super while still looking nice! I think my biggest thing is cardigans. I wear them a lot, but I don't have very many! Hopefully I'll do that soon!
