Mother's Day

Good afternoon! I hope you ladies are having a blessed Monday. I'm fighting off what is a mild cold or bad allergies, and doing all the things that I procrastinated about this weekend. ;) Right this minute, it feels good just to sit and write this post, cuddling my dog and listening to praise music.
Yesterday was, of course, Mother's Day. A holiday dedicated to ladies seems like the perfect time to get out the extra feminine clothes, don't you think? Just the day before, Mom found skirts for herself and I at a consignment store that were the of same design, but in different colors. We decked ourselves out in our matching skirts, pink blouses, and tall shoes, and had Dad take a picture of us before church! Later, Mom took some more outfit pictures of my ensemble. For props, I had three lovely yellow roses my Grandma gave to her daughter in honor of the holiday. They went well with my new pink rose hair clip!

I am definitely thankful for my mom! She has faithfully loved me from the start, and was my teacher all the way through school. Now she's encouraging me in my endeavors as a young adult, cheering me on as I feel like I awkwardly blunder about. ;) Thanks Mom!
You know, there is a lot to be said for godly mothers and fathers. Mine have always been there for me not only as parents but as teachers and friends. That said, I know that your experience may not have been the same as mine. Even if you are a Christian, you might be the only one in your family. You may be trying to find your own way on the rewarding but rocky road of Christianity.
If this is you, I want to encourage you in two things. 1) God is your Father. When your human parents fail you -and even godly parents mess up now and then - He is the perfect father you can run to. 2) The Lord told us not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together. He has given us the fellowship of other believers for a reason. Remember to give and receive encouragement and edification from other committed believers. You may find spiritual mothers, sisters, and brothers to be your family as you walk the path the Father has given you. :)

How do you feel about matching your Mom? Do you have Christian friends that you feel are family?

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all."
~Proverbs 31:28-29

  3. Very pretty and feminine outfits! As far as matching my mom goes...we just seem to coordinate a lot of times without even knowing what each other is wearing!
