A Day on the (Small) Town

What a fresh and sunny day yesterday was here on the coast! Blue skies beckoned us to take a Saturday adventure. As we munched on a simple "car picnic", we traveled the half hour drive to a charming Victorian town. Cute shops and consignment stores awaited us. We had only to find a good parking spot and amble down the sidewalk...

We began our outing with a trip to a store chock-full of all things antique and vintage. Above you can see about half of the hat collection (sorry for the bad photo quality), a 1930's dress and a 1910's dress!

Here is my view down the street.

One of the stores had a lovely painted ceiling reminiscent of those in fine palaces of the Old World.

They also had a room with some cute stuffed animals! I used to have quite a menagerie of animal toys myself, especially Beanie Babies.

At a consignment store, I found yet another pair of wonderfully cute brown boots! They were a size too small, which made it easier not to snatch them up.

Mom and I made a quick dash to the town cemetery, which happens to have a spectacular view of the area. This was only the lower level! Below are views from two different directions.

Outfit Details:
Dress ~ Bought new at Paddington Station; T-shirt ~ Thrifted; Cardigan ~ Thrifted; Leggings ~ Bought new....somewhere (?); Jacket ~ Thrifted; Boots ~ Bought new at Ross

Didn't the clouds make beautiful pictures in the azure sky?

Though we didn't end up purchasing anything, it was worth going out to enjoy time with each other, see the beautiful skies, and look at all the sweet shops! I hope that you enjoyed my sharing this Saturday outing with you. May the rest of your Sunday be filled with true peace and joy!

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows his handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
~Psalm 19: 1-3

  2. What an adorably cute outfit! So cool that the thrift store you went to had a dress from the 1910's and 30's, two of my favorite time periods. Great photos of that pretty blue sky!

    1. Thanks! It's so neat that those are some of your favorite eras! :) I didn't used to think I liked the 1910's until I started seeing more from it and researching for my series! I'm planning a 30's How-To this week if all goes well. :D
